LEG WORK: “A girl for all seasons” was the theme Tuesday night when Sculptz took over New York’s Glasshouses to show off its latest legwear and shapewear collection. Celebrity stylist Robert Verdi joined Jean P. Vernor, president and chief executive officer at Sculptz, to host the event.
“My entire styling career has helped me understand the complexities of how different every woman’s body is,” Verdi said. “My job is more than finding a pretty dress. It’s giving my client the tools to look their best and feel confident and Sculptz is one of those tools.”
After selling at retail for the first time last year, Sculptz has gone on to premiere on different platforms around the world, as well as on QVC, where Vernor said the line has cultivated a strong following. But Vernor expects her first New York event to officially mark the line’s entrance into the market.
“We had successful launch events during fashion week in London and Toronto which coincided with multiple retailer launches in both countries,” Vernor said. “The New York City debut officially introduces the brand to the U.S. market and we feel that clients, retailers and press will gravitate towards our unique product offerings.”

MILLY’S FRESH GLOW: Michelle Smith’s Milly label is favored by women seeking sophisticated yet feminine clothing, and with these women in mind, Smith decided to launch a jewelry collection.
“From the time I was a girl, I was always into vintage jewelry. It is a passion of mine, so I thought it would be a great addition to the Milly collection,” said Smith, Milly’s designer and founder.
For the premier collection, Smith took bright colors and inspirations from the spring line and created Lucite necklaces, gold-plated link bracelets and turquoise and orange enamel cuffs. Each of the 50 styles will retail between $75 and $325 at select department stores this spring.
Smith’s husband Andrew Oshrin, Milly’s president and chief executive officer, estimated the line would do between $800,000 and $1.25 million in wholesale in its first year, but added the business could double the following year.
“Our jewelry allows the aspirational shopper that can’t necessarily afford Milly clothing to buy some nicely designed pieces,” Oshrin said.
