Lagos Smart Caviar Bracelet made for the Apple Watch

Lagos, the U.S. based fine jewelry brand, is launching a new technology-driven iteration of its Caviar collection: The Smart Caviar Bracelet made for the Apple Watch. The collection of four styles, which consist of sterling silver, 18-karat gold and diamond bracelets that pair with the Apple Watch, launches exclusively nationwide with Bloomingdale’s and today.

“I started this project over two years ago because I’m a big fan of the Apple Watch and love the design and functionality. It’s perfect for the sporty lifestyle. I just wanted to offer women the option to transform their casual watch into a piece of fine jewelry,” said Steven Lagos, the self-trained founder and creative director of the brand.

While there are other bracelet-style bands on the market, Lagos aimed to give the watch a fine jewelry elevation. “There are options on the market, but they still have a very casual look. I worked with sterling silver, 18-karat gold and diamonds to make a transformational piece. Something that would take the Apple Watch from sporty to fine jewelry.”

The idea for the Caviar collection came from one of Lagos’ original designs and has been a cornerstone of the brand since 1984, starting with a necklace with hematite beading that looked like actual caviar.

“Our Caviar design has evolved into an essential element in every piece,” Lagos said. “The way that the beading fits together and how it moves for a perfect, comfortable fit is really a by-product of Old World craftsmanship and technology. And while Smart Caviar is something different for us, it’s really just the next evolution of Caviar.”

Unisex styles are available in sterling silver, two-tone featuring sterling silver and 18-karat gold, sterling silver with four diamond links and sterling silver with all diamond links starting at $950 for the sterling silver and going up to $8,500 for the sterling silver with all diamond links.

“This is the first fine jewelry option we have offered for smartwatches and we love the way luxury meets modern functionality,” said Erica Russo, Bloomingdale’s vice president and fashion director for accessories and beauty. “From sterling silver to gold and diamonds, there is something for everyone.”

After the 60 day exclusive Bloomingdale’s launch, Smart Caviar will be available nationwide through, and expanding to some select wholesale partners. Smart Caviar has no relationship with Apple.
