Giorgio Armani will officially inaugurate his accessories-only boutique on Friday in Milan’s  storied Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, marking the designer’s focus on the category. “Accessories are no longer a simple complement to the collections, but in time have a become a point of strength of the Armani style and represent an increasingly bigger part of the group’s business,” said the designer, adding that he thought this was “the right moment” to provide added visibility to the collections  for both men and women in a store with a new, dedicated concept. He identified the Galleria as “the perfect location” as a pivotal tourist thoroughfare.
The unit covers two floors and 2,376 square feet and counts two windows onto the shopping arcade. The entrance has silver-colored walls and ceilings, green Persian onyx floors,  and furnishings in ash wood in a silver-sand hue. The area leading to the stairs and the elevator has walls and ceilings in a golden shade, floors in Renoir quartzite and furniture in ash wood with silver turtledove finishings.  On the first floor, the walls and the ceilings are upholstered with a shiny, petrol-blue fabric, the floor is made with a special quartzite from South Africa, and furniture is in ash wood with green finishings.
