MAKING TIME FOR GWEN: It’s comeback time for Harajuku Lovers. The Gwen Stefani-helmed brand is returning to the accessories realm with a line of watches done in partnership with Q&Q, a Japan-based subsidiary of Citizen Watch Co. The limited-edition collection consists of nine unisex styles done in bright prints, such as stripes, polkadots and Stefani’s signature houndstooth. “I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out,” the musician told WWD. “They’re like little wearable pieces of pop art that are collectable. They look super modern while still being playful and fun.” The watches, like all Q&Q timepieces, will feature solar-powered technology, which allows watches to operate for over three months with one charge. The pieces are crafted using both new and recycled materials, and finished with a waterproof casing. The collection also marks the first global collaboration for Q&Q. “Harajuku Lovers has an incredibly loyal following,” said Katsunobu Shimizu, marketing manager of Q&Q. “We believe the collaboration will help introduce Q&Q to a new audience and bring attention to both brands on a global level.” The timepieces, which all retail for $50, will be available exclusively in select Nordstrom stores, as well as nordstrom.com, beginning on April 5th.
