For Kyboe, the Dutch watch firm inspired by tulip fields and the travel experiences of its founders, it’s time to expand in the U.S.

The U.S. rollout began last holiday season with 50 stockkeeping units on and is this week being shipped to Lord & Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue; Nordstrom is being shipped in late March, and Hudson’s Bay will be shipped in early April. The watches are also sold on

Kyboe last spring partnered with Marc Bell, the founder and managing partner of Marc Bell Capital, based in Boca Raton, Fla., and Joseph Roos, a principal at Marc Bell Capital. Bell has committed an infusion of capital along with a marketing and distribution plan to build Kyboe’s distribution and brand recognition.

The Netherlands-based watch brand was created by Dick Sijmons and Kees de Bruïne who in 2008 started selling the watches out of the trunk of a car. Eventually, they established distribution in the Netherlands, France and Spain and began looking beyond Europe for growth. “Kees and I set out to create a brand that we loved and that was inspired by our passion for travel, fun and fashion,” said Sijmons.
Kyboe offers oversize, colorful styles for women and men and has over 300 skus priced from $190 to $530.
