MILAN — Colors and the soundtrack of the collection inspired the beauty look at Emilio Pucci.
A very colorful collection comprised strong oranges, blacks and pinks. That is why “we wanted to keep faces quite raw,” using next to nothing, said makeup artist Inge Grognard, so to emphasize colors.
Faces were well moisturized and prepared after a massage. Lips were not colored and the natural strong red hue of certain lips was brought down.
Makeup was focused on the eyelashes. Using MAC Cosmetics, a Sixties-style mascara was created by mixing different colors together. Then eyelashes were painted very thick and very colorful.
Nothing was used on the eyebrows. “We just brushed them up and that’s it” added Grognard.
Hairstylist Holli Smith explained that “we wanted to make sure that Pucci looked young.” Inspired by the psychedelic and colorful atmosphere of the collection, hair was divided into two sections over the forehead, pushed back tight and then gathered into a low ponytail.
A string elastic held the ponytail straight in a perfect wrap. Then a little bump on the back gave a Sixties feeling without looking too retro. Thickening Hairspray by Bumble and bumble and Surf Spray were used to convey a dry look to the hair.
