Cosmoprof Acquires Media Group Health and Beauty

The operation will help the beauty trade show foster its presence in central Europe.

BolognaFiere Cosmoprof, the company organizing leading beauty trade show Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna has acquired German-based media group Health and Beauty.

Financial details of the deal, which will be completed in October, were not revealed. Through the transaction, Cosmoprof’s revenues are expected to reach 90 million euros.

According to a statement issued by the Italian trade show organizer, the deal will help Cosmoprof “enlarge its area of influence in key markets for the beauty industry in Central Europe,” its presence in the beauty salon and nail sectors, as well as in the publishing and digital fields.

Based in Ettlingen, Germany, Health and Beauty is a media company publishing 30 beauty-related trade magazines and it also operates the international Beauty Forum trade show format, which is held annually in 14 different international countries. They include Munich and Leipzig, Germany; Zurich; Paris; Warsaw; Budapest, Athens and Dubai, among other destinations.

Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna will mark its 52nd edition next year. The event will run March 14 to 17 at the BolognaFiere fair district. International Cosmoprof editions are also held in Las Vegas, Mumbai and Hong Kong, under the Cosmoprof North America, India Preview and Asia monikers, respectively. The trade show’s inaugural iteration in Mumbai will be held on Sept. 10.
