Created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, BolognaFiere has conceived Cosmoprime, to be held at the Italian city’s fair district starting March 16, concurrently with Cosmopack and a day before the international beauty fair Cosmoprof. Cosmoprime will showcase a variety of international beauty companies, selected through a deep scouting activity and ranging from high-end mass market to prestige and niche perfumery. Cosmoprime will end March 19, a day earlier than Cosmoprof.

Cosmoprime will be divided in different sections, including “Extraordinary Gallery” which will focus on trends and small, innovative labels, and the “Premium Perfumery” corner, dedicated to masstige fragrances.

For the first time a booth, called “Tones of Beauty,” will expose cosmetic products for different, multiethnic kinds of beauty in Italy. “We wanted to meet the demands of a globalized market,” said Cosmoprime’s sales account Laura Campodonico. Also new, the “BeOrganic” section will showcase ten companies with biological certification only.

Thanks to the collaboration with Accademia del Profumo, “The Perfume Factory” division will reproduce every step in a scent’s productive chain. A dedicated limited-edition fragrance will also be realized to celebrate the fair’s milestone. The “Glamour Me!” section will allow buyers to test all the products directly while workshops and seminaries will be held at the “CosmoTalks” area to offer an in-depth analysis on new trends and retail strategies.

The International Buyer Program will provide customized fair experiences to each buyer. Retailers will also have access to a new digital tool with detailed information for each exhibitor, allowing the opportunity to arrange appointments in advance.

In 2016, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna registered over 200,000 visitors and counted 2,510 exhibitors, 73 percent of which were from outside Italy. Also present in Las Vegas and Hong Kong with Cosmoprof North America and Cosmoprof Asia, respectively, the format globally draws 6,400 exhibitors and 350,000 visitors coming from 150 countries.
