NEW SCENT-SATION: Courrèges is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the launch of a new fragrance in spring, the brand’s new owners revealed Wednesday. “It’s going to be called Blanc de Courrèges, and it’s a very pretty perfume with a base note of iris,” Jacques Bungert said at a cocktail celebrating the launch of a Courrèges shop-in-shop at Milan’s 10 Corso Como boutique. “It’s an incredibly modern perfume which has scored through the roof with all the test groups, so we have high expectations for it,” he added. The scent will be introduced in April alongside the re-launch of the house’s classic Eau de Courrèges and Empreinte fragrances.
Bungert and co-president Frédéric Torloting are also gearing up for the launch next week of the revamped Courrèges Web site, featuring new designs alongside mint-condition items from the company’s inventory of unsold merchandise. Images from the site were splashed across the walls of the Corso Como pop-up store, which features exclusive designs including a white dress that folds up into a square for traveling. Similar events are planned in March at 10 Corso Como’s stores in Seoul and Tokyo.
