The Estée Lauder Cos. president and chief executive officer, Fabrizio Freda, will be honored at the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation’s 12th annual Connoisseur’s Dinner on Thursday. He is being honored for his efforts in working to prevent, treat and find a cure for the disease.
Co-chaired by Leonard and Ronald Lauder and hosted by journalist Paula Zahn, the dinner will include a preview of Sotheby’s spring exhibition, food and wine pairings presented by Sotheby’s and an auction to support the work of Alzheimer’s researchers. At last year’s dinner, more than $2.5 million was raised to support the foundation.
“Fabrizio Freda understands the importance of our mission to cure Alzheimer’s and has committed his company’s resources towards it,” said Mark Roithmayr, chief executive officer of the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation. “During his tenure, The Estée Lauder Companies has become an even stronger partner to the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation and we can’t thank him enough.”
Expected attendees are Myra Biblowit, president of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation; Rose Marie Bravo, former chief executive officer of Burberry; John Demsey, executive group president of the Estée Lauder Cos., and Aerin and Jane Lauder, among others.
