Exhibit Spotlights Untouched Beauty

Stella Cadente and Florian Claudel took the photos on display.

PARIS — Showcasing female beauty from an unusual angle, an exhibition at BETC’s Paris headquarters features color pictures taken under candlelight by fashion designer Stella Cadente and photographer Florian Claudel, with makeup by Kakie.

The 19 images on display contrast sharply with the picture-perfect visuals generally dominating the fashion and beauty worlds today.

No professional models were used. Each person is pictured from the shoulders up, sporting elaborate color cosmetics accentuated with natural materials such as gold, feathers and fur.

Taken three years ago, the images were originally intended to be part of Cadente and Claudel’s personal collections.

Titled “Lumière du Premier Jour,” the exhibit is a multisensory experience, with ambient sound and scent created by perfumer Annick Ménardo wafting through the air.

The show’s sponsors include Firmenich and Shu Uemura.
