PARIS — Firmenich said that it has launched a new web site in China to expand its customer experience there.
Firmenich.com.cn was designed with Chinese customers, partners and colleagues in mind, the Swiss fragrance and flavors supplier said in a statement on Thursday. The news-based web site covers the company’s innovation, research and social-responsibility commitments, it outlined.
“We have great ambitions for China, which is a strategic, high-growth market for Firmenich,” stated Gilbert Ghostine, the company’s chief executive officer.
For the past two decades Firmenich has been investing to expand its footprint and capabilities in the country.
Operationally, the group runs three manufacturing plants in China, which cover its three business units. The perfumery and flavors factories are in Shanghai, while the ingredients unit is based in Kunming, in China’s Yunnan province. Meanwhile, the construction on a new flavors plant is due to begin in the country in 2017.
In other company news, as reported, Firmenich earlier this week named two new master perfumers — Nathalie Lorson and Tony Reichert.
