New Entity to Track Live Passenger Traffic by Nationality

ForwardKeys and JMG-Research are joining forces for the venture created to service retail and travel-retail players.

PARIS — ForwardKeys and JMG-Research are joining forces to provide live information to retail and travel-retail players about international passenger traffic by nationality.

“Our industry has a desperate need for worldwide, real-time information about how, when and where the passengers are traveling, understanding when they book their trips, when they travel, isolating all various steps from the initial domestic flight to the international legs, including transits,” stated ForwardKeys, a Spain-based provider of traveler data intelligence. “Another aspect is to be able to anticipate future flow based [on] registered bookings.”

ForwardKeys and JMG-Research, a travel-retail research company in Paris, are setting up a global retail and travel-retail division under the ForwardKeys moniker.

“Evidence-based decision-making is becoming a requirement in business practices in the travel industry and peripheral businesses,” stated Olivier Jager, founder of ForwardKeys. “Our solutions start by answering some very fundamental questions: What is the potential of the market? What will travel demand be in the coming months and for each destination around the globe? What are the events that are triggering that demand?”

“Thanks to this new business intelligence tool, we can not only provide our clients with a real-time pulse of the market, tracking the key destinations for each nationality, but also allow them to build tactical actions to reach the right consumer group as they know in advance the true traveling patterns,” said Jérôme Goldberg, JMG-Research’s founder. “It is a perfect match with our existing focus on the global shopper behaviors, and in the future we will combine these two dimensions.”

Goldberg will join ForwardKeys as director of business development, global retail and travel retail, a newly created position, while remaining managing director of JMG-Research.
