PARIS — Fragrance brand ORN, which gleans inspiration from Thailand, inaugurated its first pop-up shop here on Wednesday.
The streamlined 670-square-foot boutique in the Marais, located at 19 Rue du Pont au Choux, carries the label’s full line of eaux de parfum and some scented ornaments.
ORN was founded by Orawan Pisitkasem, a design agency executive based in Bangkok; and Fah Ruengskul, a brand and marketing consultant living in Zurich. The pair of childhood friends from Thailand wanted to create scented products inspired by the country’s traditional perfuming and decorating techniques.
Their five fragrances are associated with certain moods and occasions. There’s Wan for intimacy and Bride for eternal love, for instance. Perfumers including Nathalie Lorson and Marie Salamagne created the scents.
Also carried in the pop-up shop are scented candles, perfumed diffusers including wooden reeds and some scented jewelry.

Under the curation of industry consultant Thomas Erber, the boutique was decorated by Diplomates set designers and includes pieces by interior designer Paul Kelley.
“We want to open the market in France, and I want to make this like a showcase,” said Ruengskul. “I would like to have solid distribution, points of sales here in Paris. So I think it’s a good place to start, to do a pop-up store. Hopefully, we can have more and more points of sale in France.
“I want to land the brand and make people understand what it is about, because our idea is perfumed ornaments,” she continued. “It’s about scent and sight.”
ORN is currently available in two pop-up shops in Bangkok, where, at the end of September, it will be introduced in Siam Paragon department store. The brand is also sold in Geneva and Lausanne, Switzerland.
The ORN pop-up shop in Paris is to remain open through Sept. 28.
