A feeling of female empowerment swept through CEW’s Annual Achievers Awards Luncheon, which recognized seven leaders in the beauty industry including Birchbox’s Katia Beauchamp, Marla Malcolm Beck of Bluemercury, the Estée Lauder Cos.’ Beth DiNardo, Vapor Communication’s Rachel Field, J&J’s Michelle Freyre and L’Oréal’s Sarah Hibberson. Alex Keith of P&G kicked things off with her keynote, encouraging attendees to “Take smart risks, identify the worst-case scenario and mitigate it.” Presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Karen Fondu of L’Oréal Paris, passed on some wisdom she’s garnered during her 37-year career. “Enjoy the moment, embrace the good times and the bad. I started as a young 25-year-old woman who had a dream and it came true. I wish that for everyone because you are all so very worth it.”
