Jeffrey Davidson

Jeffrey Davidson, chief executive officer of J&D Beauty Co. and Goody Products, Inc., died on Saturday, July 6, after succumbing to injuries sustained during a motorbike accident in midtown Manhattan. He was 60 years old.

Davidson died at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was taken after the accident on Friday night. Davidson was driving his motorbike near 58th Street and Park Avenue on Friday night, when he fell off and crashed into the pavement, according to a spokesperson for JD Beauty.

Davidson joined JD Beauty, maker of hair brands Wet Brush, Bio Ionic and Ouidad, in 2013 as chief strategy officer, and was promoted to ceo in 2017. In March of this year, he oversaw the sale of JD Beauty to Acon, owners of Goody hair products, and assumed a ceo role for the combined companies.

Prior to JD Beauty, Davidson served as ceo and president of Lindsay Phillips Inc., a manufacturer of women’s accessories.

Davidson is survived by Mary Beth Davidson, children Gregory, Spencer and Jordanne and brother Rick Davidson. A service was held in Livingston, N.J., on Monday morning.
