Japan’s Decorté line is heading Stateside.
The Tokyo-based luxury color and skin-care brand, owned by Kosé Corporation, is partnering exclusively with Saks Fifth Avenue for a spring launch.
“Decorté is a perfect complement to Saks, bringing the best of Japan’s technology and the industries highest standards of quality,” said Kate Oldham, senior vice president and general merchandise manager of beauty for Saks Fifth Avenue, said that plans are to roll out in Saks Fifth Avenue locations across the U.S. and Canada in spring 2016 along with an e-commerce presence on saksfifthavenue.com.
Kate Moss will appear as the brand ambassador and face of Decorté with a multiyear contract, said Kazutoshi Kobayashi, president and chief executive officer of Kosé Corporation. He added that the company “can’t wait to finally introduce American women” to the brand’s products.
Kosé bought a 93.5 percent stake in American color cosmetics brand Tarte in April 2014, and in December, Kobayashi noted that the $135 million investment brought with it valuable insight into the American market.

Kobayashi added that Moss is currently appearing in print advertising shot by Mario Testino. The ads feature the Moisture Liposome franchise, said to be the best-selling prestige face serum in Japan, as well as the brand’s new Liposome Treatment Liquid. Kobayashi noted that the campaign is the company’s single largest advertising campaign in its history.
