PARIS — L’Oréal said Thursday it has appointed Denis Simonneau as executive delegate institutional affairs of the group, starting April 1.
He succeeds Loïc Armand, who joined the company in 1984.
Simonneau will report to Jean-Paul Agon, L’Oréal chairman and chief executive officer, and work closely with the group’s executive vice president of communication and public affairs, Lucia Dumas.
Since 2009, Simonneau served as director of European and international relations at Engie Group, prior to which he was its diplomatic adviser. The executive has also held numerous positions in France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through which he was stationed in Paris and countries abroad, such as India, South Africa and the U.S.
Agon lauded Armand for having made a major contribution to L’Oréal.
