Exclusive: Macy’s Looking to Hire 1,000 More Beauty Advisors

The announcement comes one month after the launch of Macy's Deeper Beauty campaign.

Macy’s is beefing up its beauty staff. The department store chain, which currently has over 10,000 beauty advisors nationally, is looking to fill nearly 1,000 more beauty advisors positions in city-area stores across the country.

Seeking both full-time and part-time staff, Macy’s is encouraging candidates to attend its hiring events on May 22. These events will take place in cities nationwide, including Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, New York, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Miami, Seattle and Los Angeles. Those looking to apply can find more information on the store’s career site, macysjobs.com.

The cosmetic hiring events round out a series of initiatives we are doing to enhance our beauty offering for our shoppers,” said Nata Dvir, general business manager of Macy’s Beauty. “The addition of beauty advisors will continue to strengthen our relationship with our customers, as we deliver the high level of knowledge and service they have come to expect from Macy’s.”

The hiring announcement comes one month after the launch of Macy’s Deeper Beauty campaign. The retailer also reported a net income of $131 million in the first quarter this week. “We exceeded our expectations and saw strong performance across all three brands — Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury — as well across all geographic regions and families of business,” Jeff Gennette, Macy’s Inc. chairman and chief executive officer, told WWD on Wednesday.
