PARIS — Marionnaud donated 100,000 euros, or $138,894 at current exchange, on Thursday to Cosmetic Executive Women France’s beauty centers, which gives free beauty treatments to hospitalized women and men.

The sum was raised by the perfumery chain selling 20,000 stuffed teddy bears dressed by Lanvin during a Valentine’s Day operation. One quarter of the people buying the bears had purchased them in the past through the yearly event.

The sum allows for 3,000 treatments of patients per year and insures the functioning of the two treatment rooms five days a week, according to Françoise Montenay, president of CEW France’s beauty centers
Montenay and Eileen Yeo, managing director of Marionnaud France, also presented the results of an operation called “Plus belle avec le CEW” (or More beautiful with CEW), which this year involved 40 volunteer beauty counselors being trained by CEW members and a psychologist to advise people in-store with cancer.
