NEW YORK — Celebrity hair stylist Frédéric Fekkai issued a statement over the weekend expressing his grief over the murder of Inessa Ivanov, a colorist at his salon for the past 10 years, who was gunned down on Madison Avenue and 57th Street Friday night.

“Inessa Ivanov was a dear friend to all of us at Fekkai. We are deeply saddened by this tragedy,” said Fekkai. “Inessa will be always remembered in our spirit. Her family and those close to her have our most sincere sympathy. We will do everything we can to help the authorities in their investigation.”

Ivanov, 39, was shot by her ex-husband, Vadim Ivanov, as she left the Madison Avenue salon around 7 p.m. on Friday, according to police. Before turning the gun on himself, Vadim Ivanov also shot John Turco, Inessa’s boyfriend, who had come to pick her up after work. Turco survived the attack, but is in critical condition at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
