Bertrand Lemont’s New York Road Trip

The vice president of global fine fragrances at IFF decided to embark on a five-day camping trip to Niagara Falls and the Adirondacks.

Bertrand Lemont and his family have holidayed in locales as varied as Bali to Beaver Creek, Colo. But this summer, the Frenchman, who is vice president of global fine fragrances at IFF, decided to embark on the most American of adventures: A five-day camping trip to Niagara Falls and the Adirondacks.

Lemont, his wife, Mindy, and their three children covered a lot of ground, almost 1,000 miles in all, in their 32-foot Sunseeker RV, complete with running water, multiple sleep areas and, of course, a microwave—“It’s like driving your house,” Lemont jokes. “If you want a cup of coffee, you don’t even have to stop.” The executive, whose regular mode of transportation is more Uber than motor home, is eager to hit the road again, and has already started planning his next expedition. Wyoming, here he comes!

Road Trip Timeline:
Day 1 – 385 miles 300 miles from Millbrook, N.Y., to Rochester; 85 miles from Rochester to Niagara Falls.

Day 3 – 225 miles Sodus Point, N.Y., to Lake Placid.
