P&G Sells French Beauty Products Plant to Mibelle Group

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

PARIS — Procter & Gamble has sold its Sarreguemines, France-based Ondal Sarl plant, which specializes in the production of retail and professional hair care, hair colorants and face- and body-care products, to the Mibelle Group, the companies said.

Financial terms of the deal, which closes on July 31, were not disclosed.

Migros Group-owned Mibelle, a maker of personal-care, home-care and nutrition products, stated the purchase “will strengthen the already close business relationship with P&G and systematically further Mibelle’s strategy of international growth. All the P&G employees will be retained.”

Ondal Sarl manufacturers many of the more than 40 beauty brands P&G agreed in July 2015 to sell to Coty Inc.

“As a result of the close customer relationship between P&G and the Mibelle Group of recent years, this situation presented an attractive opportunity,” stated Mibelle, adding once it takes over the plant it will continue manufacturing for P&G and Coty, assuming their deal is finalized.

The Ondal Sarl site employs about 180 people.
