PARIS — To celebrate the launch of John Galliano’s new women’s fragrance, Parlez-Moi d’Amour — for which she is the face — Taylor Momsen jammed before a crowd of a few hundred fans Monday night in Paris. She and her band, The Pretty Reckless, pulled up to Lapérouse restaurant — where festivities were taking place, in a massive, open-sided truck that seconded as a stage. Momsen sang three songs, including her single “Make Me Wanna Die,” and called the gig her first “concert” in Paris.
For the fragrance project created with Perfume Holding and due out starting in mid-October, Galliano envisioned a love story. The designer said that Momsen was a great inspiration and that he thought up a narrative “where she’s been traveling around the world gigging everywhere, going from one gig to another, and she finds herself in Berlin, stranded.” Galliano imagined that the actress-turned-rocker had no Internet access and had lost contact with everyone.
“She finds herself having to pour her heart out longhand on paper to this guy that she has just fallen in love with,” he said.
