Inspired by the beach, Val Garland, lead makeup artist for Sephora, created a sun-kissed girl. “She docked in Ibiza and is just about to leave the yacht and go for cocktails. Think done but undone,” she said. To create the vacation-inspired look Garland applied Josie Maran Argan Infinity Cream Intensive Creamy Oil mixed with Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation to the skin to leave it “fresh and dewy.” A bit of Marc Jacobs O!Mega Bronze in Tantric was then added to achieve the sun-kissed appearance. Then, she applied Marc Jacobs Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl Sheer in Sweet Escape to match the tinted skin. For the eyes, Garland ran Marc Jacob’s Highliner Gel Crayon in a grey tone called Blacquer across the lash line. She then blended the liner with a charcoal grey and chocolate bronze shadow called Glam and Lolita. The finishing touch was Buxom Sculpted Lash Mascara in True Black, which was used on the top and bottom eyeline to create a smoky undereye.
“She’s aware she shouldn’t look overdone,” said Laurent Philippon using Bumble and bumble products, about the hairstyle he created to match the show. “She’s on holiday and just came out of the water with her hair brushed back.” Philippon first worked the hair subtly with a curling iron. He never made a full loop around the iron and instead wrapped random pieces in both directions for a more lived-in feel. Once finished, he mixed Full Form Mousse and Bb. Gel to get an equal amount of shine and hold without weighing the hair down.

“I feel like the [Emmy] nomination is this absurdly generous bonus to something that I’ve already been excited by for quite some time now,” Darren Criss tells @ktauer about his nomination for his role as Andrew Cunanan in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, “My general attitude toward life is I hope for everything but expect nothing. But when you’re playing for the Warriors, there’s a good chance you’ll make it to the championships. And I’m not saying I’m Steph Curry, but when you’re on [showrunner] Ryan Murphy’s team, it seems more palpable than ever,” he continues. (Criss previously starred on “Glee,” another Murphy creation, although they didn’t directly work together.) “I feel like I’ve already won the lottery.” Read more in WWD.com (📸: @lexieblacklock ) #wwdeye #darrencriss #americancrimestory #emmys2018
