Vemedia Agrees to Acquire Oenobiol

Sanofi has owned the beauty nutritional supplements brand since 2010.

PARIS — The Vemedia Group said Wednesday it has entered into an agreement with Sanofi for the acquisition of Oenobiol, the beauty nutritional supplements brand.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vemedia, a consumer health care company based in Diemen, the Netherlands, said the transaction is expected to close Feb. 29.

Oenobiol was created in 1985 by Marie Béjot and acquired by Sanofi in 2010. Its portfolio includes nutritional supplements for sun care, hair care and slimming.

The brand’s strongest market is France, followed by Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Lebanon, Luxembourg and Hong Kong.

“The acquisition of the Oenobiol brand will further strengthen the position of Vemedia Consumer Health on the French market as well as in other territories such as Spain, Belgium and Hong Kong,” stated Rob Drenth, chief executive officer of The Vemedia Group. “In France we are planning to extend our organization and set up our own sales team.”
