The Lauder family has always been a major supporter of New York City’s museums. With her latest product, Aerin Lauder is giving back in a slightly different way: with lipstick.
To honor the opening of “Gustav Klimt and Adele Bloch-Bauer: The Woman in Gold,” Aerin Beauty and the Neue Galerie Design Shop have teamed up to unveil an exclusive limited-edition lipstick set. The set is available for preorder online with a release date of March 30; the exhibit opens on April 2.
Lauder and Renée Price, the Neue Galerie New York director, developed the Aerin Rose Balm Lipstick Set, which will include two lipsticks, both inspired by a Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, a sensuous 1907 Klimt portrait the museum acquired in 2006. The painting, considered a classic of fin-de-siècle Vienna, is also the subject of a new historical drama, “Woman in Gold,” starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds.
The $64 set comprises Liebling, an existing soft blush shade, which is intended to evoke the warm blush tones in Bloch-Bauer’s lips and cheeks, and Sequin, a Neue Galerie exclusive, which has a golden shimmer intended to capture the same tone of the painting. Proceeds from the lipsticks will benefit the museum’s exhibitions and education programs.
