NEW YORK — Becca Cosmetics hopes to uncork another sales frenzy the release of a limited-edition Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Glow Palette on Sephora.com on Oct. 27.
Last July, Becca introduced a limited quantity of a shade called Champagne Pop within its Shimmering Skin Perfector range, and it sold out on sephora.com in less than four hours. More than 25,000 units moved in the first 20 minutes. Industry sources estimate the item produced more than $4 million in retail sales in just four.
Now all eyes are on the Champagne Glow Palette, which, like Champagne Pop, was created in partnership with makeup artist and beauty vlogger Jaclyn Hill.
Robert DeBaker, president and chief executive officer of Becca credited Hill’s involvement as a catalyst to the brisk sales momentum. “Champagne Pop is the perfect marriage of the best-selling highlighter that sparked the trend and Jaclyn Hill’s highly engaged fan base who trust her judgment and taste.”
Brick-and-mortar stores will begin selling the palette, which consists of three shades and retails for $34, on October 30th. Industry estimates are that the Champagne Glow Palette and Champagne Pop could produce more than $20 million in sales by the end of 2015.
