Each of the three Voluptuous Lip Color Sets, developed by Bésame’s founder, Gabriela Hernandez, and which will start hitting stores next week, includes a different shade of lip color, lip pencil and an ergonomically designed lip brush. According to Hernandez, the lipsticks — which come in Red Velvet, Rapture Rose and Champagne — contain ingredients such as green tea and horsetail extract and aloe to help soften and plump the lips. The pencils are two shades darker than the lipstick color to create the illusion of fullness, while the oval-shaped brush is designed for greater control. The set comes in black-and-gold enameled and metal Art Deco-inspired packaging. The product also will join existing Bésame lip and cheek cosmetics.
The $35-at-retail set will be available at specialty stores such as The Beauty Collection in the Los Angeles area, Dollhouse Bettie in San Francisco and Pixie and Ivy in Houston, as well as online. According to industry sources, and factoring in Bésame’s international distribution, the new Voluptuous set could do $1.2 million in sales in its first 12 months.
