The big news of New York fashion week was the return to the runway of Francois Nars after a 10-year absence. The makeup artist created a tour de force for Marc Jacobs, giving each of the 65 models a wildly different look, taking as his inspiration the New York nightclub scene in the Seventies and Eighties. Combined with Guido Palau’s exuberant hair, the result was a focus on beauty in a city where clean and neutral usually rules the runways.
