Highly embellished hair and makeup, ranging from chic, modern and wearable to the more fantastical, were featured at many shows. At Donna Karan, the proletarian bobby pin was elevated to star status, creating graphic patterns leading to chignons. At Carolina Herrera, Orlando Pita studded buns with copper hairpins, while Odile Gilbert opted for string or spray paint at Rodarte. And at the Barbie show, the whole kit and caboodle adorned out-of-this-world eyes.
