Nail Line Tackles Driving While Texting

Mass-market nail-polish brand Sinful Colors has joined the crusade against texting while driving.

Mass-market nail-polish brand Sinful Colors has joined the crusade against texting while driving. The line recently launched “No Text Red,” a shade executives hope will deter would-be distracted drivers. “Statistics show that distracted driving causes more teen fatalities than any other cause in the United States. We were inspired by Colorado State Government workers who painted their thumbs red this past summer to spread texting-while-driving awareness, and we wanted to create a national call to action,” said Sinful Colors director of marketing Blake Decker.  “The Sinful Colors core customers are young women — we care about their safety and well-being.” Sinful Colors has also initiated a hashtag, #NoTextRed, to encourage its fans to spread the word on social media. “The direct responses [to the campaign] have been overwhelmingly positive. Our consumers are eager to wear and share, and mothers are extremely supportive,” said Decker. The polish is available for $1.99 at mass-market retailers.
