FRONT FACING: Nars Cosmetics has named the makeup artist Andrew Gallimore, who’s known for creating artistic, often experimental looks, as its U.K. makeup artist ambassador. Gallimore, who together with the photographer Rankin has recently published the book “Andrew Gallimore by Rankin,” will work to reinforce the vision of François Nars, the brand’s founder and creative director.
Gallimore will use the Nars range in his editorial work, and highlight the brand in press interviews and events. Frederique Lampert, Nars’ regional executive director for Europe, said Gallimore’s “affinity for bold, boundary-pushing artistry marries beautifully with the philosophies that François Nars established…20 years ago, which we still embrace today.” He added the aim is for Gallimore to “continue to elevate Nars as a makeup artistry brand.”
Gallimore’s book with Rankin, published in December, showcases looks such as a model’s face painted with harlequin-like diamond shapes, and another covered in silver studs. The British makeup artist has worked with publications including British Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Love and i-D, and with photographers such as David Bailey and Patrick Demarchelier.
