With this appointment — effective immediately — Daly will lead shows for Nars at New York Fashion Week, train the Nars makeup artist team, host in-store events for Nars to present new collections and use Nars in her editorial work, among other duties.
“We want to continue to capitalize our artistry heritage and to continue to elevate it going forward,” said Louis Desazars, chief executive officer of Nars Cosmetics, a division of Shiseido Co. Ltd. “We also would like to increase our role at New York Fashion Week and lead more shows, and do more editorial partnerships. Francelle is a rising star who has the talent and enthusiasm to help us achieve these goals.”
Daly, who is represented by Art + Commerce, does extensive editorial work in such publications as Interview, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. She also works regularly with celebrities, including Kate Bosworth, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, Chloë Sevigny, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Evan Rachel Wood, Karen Elson and Vera Farmiga. This is her first cosmetics company collaboration.

While Daly will handle a lot of artistry details, the products and creative control will continue to be solely the territory of founder François Nars. “While we will be interested in Francelle’s experiences with the products, François will still develop the products and be the final decision-maker on the brand,” said Desazars. “We don’t dictate too much — he takes the brand in unexpected directions, which keeps us fresh.”
Daly is ready for the challenge. “I’ve been an admirer of François Nars for so long and have always been impressed by the quality and pigment of the colors,” she said. “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to contribute to such an iconic brand.”
