BERLIN — Germany’s fragrance industry honored new and classic scents at the Duftstars awards gala here Friday night. Ex-Spice Girl Melanie C performed, and Jean Paul Gaultier was on hand to pick up a special Personality prize.
Also in attendance was Dita Von Teese, in a daringly draped sepia gown, who received the award for Women’s Lifestyle fragrance for her first signature scent with license-holder Luxess. Men’s Lifestyle kudos went to David Beckham Homme, but the soccer star was not on hand to pick up his prize.
Other winning scents were Bottega Veneta and Marc Jacobs Bang Bang in the Exclusive category, Elie Saab Le Parfum and Yves Saint Laurent L’Homme Libre in the Prestige category, and Hermès 24 Faubourg and Chanel Allure Homme for Classics.
The publicly chosen People’s Prize for Prestige went to Jil Sander Eve and Giorgio Armani Armani Code Sport. Lifestyle winners were Bruno Banani Made for Women and Mexx Fresh Man.
