PARIS — “Le Ministère est au parfum,” an exhibition showcasing French perfumery and perfumers’ savoir faire, is on display in four windows of France’s Ministry of Culture and Communication here until March 18.

Showcased subjects range from how organic chemistry allowed for the development of scents such as Guerlain’s Jicky and Chanel No. 5 to the advent of new fragrance categories, such as gourmands and aquatics.

Perfumers Daniela Andrier, François Caron, Olivier Cresp, Dominique Ropion and Maurice Roucel were made Officers of the Order of Arts and Letters by France’s minister of culture and communication Frédéric Mitterrand at an event on Jan. 26, which inaugurated the exhibit.
