Henri Bendel is back in the fragrance business with the debut of a new scent, Suite 712. Launching today in 29 stores and at henribendel.com, the 3.4-oz. concoction features notes such as freesia, suede and cashmere and retails for $98.
The rectangular bottle graphics pay homage to Bendel’s signature brown and white stripes. Named after the flagship address at 712 Fifth Avenue, the scent is Bendel’s first since 2012 and is the only fragrance the retailer currently sells.
Bendel actually launched its first fragrance in 1915, called Un Peu d’Elle. Others, which debuted sporadically over the last century, include Mes Gardenias, La Veille, Gout du Jour, Jasmin de Japan, Etoile Filante, Suede, 10 West, New York, New York, Pink Grapefruit & Vetiver and White Tea & Musk.
The retailer made beauty headlines last year when it halted selling third-party beauty brands.
