Bauhaus drawings and Elemis’ timeless heritage served as the inspiration behind Misha Nonoo’s graphic travel bag design.

“Whenever I design print it tends to be geometrically inspired and quite bold,” said the British designer on how she designed the bag. “Elemis is a classic brand, but there is a boldness to the way they do business.”

The British skin-care brand tapped Nonoo to design its latest travel bag because of her classic designs and growing presence in the fashion industry. Elemis has previously collaborated with other British designers, like Alice Temperley, to create designs that embody the brand’s British heritage.

“She’s a game-changer,” said Oriele Frank cofounder and chief marketing officer at Elemis on why she chose to work with Nonoo. “She was one of the first people to do an instant show and go really direct to consumer. We enjoy the boldness of her and the way she works.”

The bag includes seven travel-sized versions of Elemis’ key products, including the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, Balancing Lavender Toner, Papaya Enzyme Peel, Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser, Frangipani Monoi Shower Cream, Frangipani Monoi Body Oil and White Flowers Eye and Lip Makeup Remover. The light blue, navy and red colors seen on the products’ packaging also served as inspiration for Nonoo when she was deciding on the bag’s colorway.

“We were really looking at the modern woman who’s on the go and travelling,” Frank said. “With any woman that is traveling they need their basic cleanser, their toner to refresh and their eye makeup remover.”

Frank worked with Nonoo to decide on which products would work best for the travel bag. They both decided on the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, which is one of Nonoo’s favorite Elemis products.

Nonoo also designed a men’s version of the travel bag in a similar black and gray pattern. The bag includes Elemis products including the Deep Cleanse Facial Wash, Skin Soothe Shave Gel, Instant Refreshing Gel, Antifatigue Day Cream and Sharp Shower Body Wash.

“My collections tend to be monochromatic, but I’m very influenced by contemporary art and architecture,” Nonoo said on how designing the bag was different than designing for her own brand. “When creating the bag, it really allowed me to play with color and as you can see with the boldness of the color, I was inspired by some of Elemis’ iconic colorways.”

The Luxury Travel Essentials For Her and For Him will each retail for $104 and $62.50, respectively. Both will launch in the U.K. on May 8 and in the U.S. on June 1 and will be available at Nordstrom, Harvey Nichols and Elemis’ online site.

Frank could not disclose sales figures. However, she noted that 75,000 units of the women’s travel bag have been manufactured and the brand anticipates selling out of the product by the end of the year.
