Mizani Fetes 25th Anniversary With New Items and Influencer Campaign

Mizani threw a bash to celebrate its 25th anniversary, new products and a new Style Icon campaign.

At a time when many hair-care brands are just launching products for women with textured hair, Mizani celebrated its 25th year of providing professional grade options for all hair types.

The milestone was marked Monday June 20 with the introduction of Styling Renaissance, a professional styling range for all curl types and textures. Mizani also kicked off #FreedomToStyle, its Style Icon influencer campaign featuring Chanel Iman, Maria Borges, Grace Mahary and Heidy De la Rosa. They showed off looks created by celebrity stylist and Mizani Global Artistic Director César Ramirez.

“The world of texture and embracing your texture is ever-growing,” said Ramirez, whose clients include Kim Kardashian, Ciara and Jennifer Hudson. “Mizani is truly the texture authority and caters to all textured hair types from a tight coil to curly to straight. We allow everyone to express themselves while maintaining the natural health of their hair.”

Mizani hit upon a missing piece in the texture revolution — the stylists. “Not only do we offer a full portfolio of professional grade products for textured hair, but we do it with the hairdresser at the center,” said Teresa Lopez, Mizani USA general manager. “Texture is everywhere right now. New products are not just about taming or controlling texture anymore. Women want to celebrate their texture with products that enhance their styling options.”

The Mizani Styling Renaissance is a newly renovated collection designed to help professionals and consumers transform texture with no compromise. Star products within the lineup are HD Shyne and Foam Wrap, both reformulated with Monoi Oil and revamped packaging. The line uses natural ingredients to nourish hair from within.

The #FreedomtoStyle campaign will be featured on Instagram where followers can see and share how texture experts throughout the world are using Mizani styling products, according to Tumi Soyinka, director of marketing for Mizani USA.

Next up for Mizani is a solution to the damage caused by frequent hair style changes. “We know that women with textured hair tend to change up their hairstyles frequently and this inevitably can lead to damaged hair,” Soyinka said. “With that, we are launching Strength Fusion in July — our post-chemical rescue salon service with Spirulina and Intra-Cylane technology. This salon service will help reconstruct the cortex of damaged hair and leave it feeling stronger yet more supple.
