Too Faced Teams With Drybar for 20th Anniversary

The Drybar x Too Faced Glitter Spritzer is a celebration of founders Alli Webb and Jerrod Blandino's longtime friendship.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Too Faced’s co-founder and chief creative officer Jerrod Blandino sought out his friend Alli Webb, founder of Drybar, for a collaboration that celebrates both brands.

“It’s a love letter of friendship,” Blandino said about the collaboration, which is a glitter infused hairspray called Glitter Spritzer. “We’re coming together as two founders to celebrate [Too Faced’s] 20th birthday and we’re celebrating each other.”

While Too Faced has partnered with many brands and influencers in the past, like the recent collaborations with Kat Von D and Kandee Johnson, Drybar hasn’t collaborated with any brands in its four years in business. Blandino and Webb have been friends for a long time and had always talked about joining efforts for a fun collaboration, so Too Faced’s 20th anniversary seemed like a perfect time for the hair-care brand to embark on its first partnership.

“I love glitter in any shape or form,” Webb said. “We were excited to make a product that was equivalent in the hair space to what [Too Faced] does in the makeup space. It’s a great marriage of the two brands.”

The Glitter Spritzer combines Drybar’s flexible hold hairspray formula and “blanc” scent of coconut, amber and vanilla with the high-pigment glitters from Too Faced, resulting in a spray that imparts a gold and silver glitter shine while holding the hair in place. For Too Faced, this is the brand’s first entry into hair-care products.

“Hair has gone outside of what everyone thought it could be,” Blandino continued, “I’ve been dying and itching to get into hair care and it’s just an organic next step into spreading our light in different areas. Plus I’m doing it with a friend and a product I love, so it makes me so excited and proud.”

The glitter hairspray is just one part of Too Faced’s 20th anniversary celebration. Since late May, Blandino has been teasing new products that are part of the brand’s anniversary collection on his own Instagram account, including the Too Faced Then & Now Eye Shadow Palette, which includes the 10 original eye shadow shades the brand initially launched with alongside modernized versions, and a collection of metallic lipsticks reinvented from the brand’s original versions. The anniversary collection and the Drybar X Too Faced Glitter Spritzer, priced at $20, will launch on Aug. 1.
