111 Skin Expands Cryotherapy Line

The luxury skin-care brand is adding Cryo Pre-Activated Toning Cleanser and Cryo Activating Hydra Gel to its lineup.

After a warm reception to its initial cryotherapy line, 111 Skin is adding two more products.

The brand has formulated a Cryo Pre-Activated Toning Cleanser and Cryo Activating Hydra Gel that will launch Nov. 1. All of the products in the Cryo line are meant to mimic the effects of cryotherapy — a process where scantily clad people stand in a sub-zero, nitrogen-cooled metal chamber for a few minutes. Temperatures drop low — below negative 200 degrees in some chambers — but the process is said to potentially improve psoriasis and eczema, plus stimulate collagen.

“People who are concerned about wellness — how healthy they are — they understand this is not just another beauty line, this is something that is a merge between beauty and wellness, for people who really understand that healthy lifestyle, who want to eat well and who want to really take care of the body,” said Yannis Alexandrides, cofounder of 111 Skin and a plastic surgeon with a practice in London. His wife, Eva Alexandrides also cofounded the business. “It’s a line that really reaches out to a younger customer, to Millennials, to people who live in busy cities…where the pollution is higher,” Alexandrides said.

The Cry Pre-Activated Toning Cleanser, which retails for $70, uses ACB modified pomegranate enzyme PF, Neurobiox, Aquaxyl, Tego, Vitamin B5 and Riboxyl as the main ingredients for the combination cleanser-toner product. The Cryo Activating Hydra Gel, $200, uses Lotus Extract, Tego natural bentine, ultrafilling spheres, neurobiox, pronalen bio-protect and stay-c 50 (stabilized Vitamin C). Both products provide a cooling sensation when applied, according to Alexandrides.

“The benefit is not just about the skin effects, but also how it feels,” Alexandrides said. “There’s a feeling of coolness, of being really clean without dehydration,” he said of the new cleanser. The moisturizer “has the sensation of coolness, of being ultra light,” Alexandrides said. “It’s not lightweight, it just feels lightweight.”

The two new products will launch exclusively with Barneys New York, which is also carrying a mini version of the 111 Skin Cryotherapy Facial, also offered at Harvey Nichols and Alexandrides’ clinic. Next up in the series is a mask inspired by that facial Alexandrides said, which should be out in the next six months.
