Actress, model and blogger Shay Mitchell is officially the new brand ambassador for Bioré Skincare, the brand said Tuesday.
Mitchell, best-known for her role as Emily Fields in the television series “Pretty Little Liars,” will be the face of the Bioré brand for 2016 and star in advertising campaigns for the company’s new baking soda cleansers, which hit shelves earlier this year. Mitchell will appear in advertising campaigns for Baking Soda Pore Cleanser, a dual-action liquid cleanser that aims to deep clean and exfoliate, and Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub, a concentrated powder cleanser that foams up on contact with water. The scrub claims to leave skin 2.5 times as clean as a basic cleanser.
Bioré is owned by Kao, a Japanese company that is planning to open a Kao-branded store on the JD Worldwide platform, used in China, in May. Sales for Kao’s beauty-care business, which includes Bioré as well as Jergens, Molton Brown and John Frieda, increased sales by 3 percent to just over $5 billion for 2015.
In 2015, Mitchell inked a deal with Kohl’s to launch an ath-leisure line called Fit to Wander.
