Jabonería Marianella Soaps Plots Expansion

Jabonería Marianella Soaps expands its bath and body collection and gains new distribution.

Jabonería Marianella Soaps, a bath and body company founded by mother and son Marianella Febres-Cordero and David Foote, is expanding in multiple ways.

During the holidays, the sensorial all-natural brand will launch a hand cream and hand wash to round out its bath and body collection. The hand products will come in Marianella’s four signature scents, Aura Elena, Dama de la Noche, Almendra and Tintarella Di Luna.

Meanwhile, the company entered Space NK worldwide and Net-a-porter about a month ago and according to Foote, it’s being well-received.

The products, which were originally made in Febres-Cordero’s kitchen, are crafted from natural ingredients and each family member has inspired a scent. Also, the packaging includes artwork by Foote and every stockkeeping unit includes his family’s crest.

Priced from $16 to $32, the brand consists of 24 skus and is looking to extend its offering with candles and body oil.

“Working with my mom at first was challenging,” admitted Foote. “But we immediately decided to do what we each do best, so she focuses on development of fragrances, ingredient selection and product testing, and I deal with the packaging design and the look of the brand. This approach prevented us from stepping on each other’s toes. Our working relationship has been a phenomenal experience that has only brought us closer.”
