Kandee Johnson knows how to sweeten sales for her beauty collaborations. The makeup artist, who has more than 7 million followers across her social channels, moved the needle on past partnerships with brands such as Too Faced, OGX and SinfulColors.
Now she’s getting the chance to partner on a category that she calls her absolute favorite — body products. In tandem with Pūrlisse, Johnson is launching the Limited Edition Holiday Kit: Kandee-Luscious Body Collection. “This is the first time I’ve ever done a body collection. I’ve been obsessed with body lotions since I was 12 — and scents. I feel like I could have been a nose,” said Johnson, who confessed she sniffed her way through many iterations before picking the fragrance for the line. The final product, which is also Pūrlisse’s first influencer partnership, marries citrus and vanilla which Johnson called an orange Dreamsicle.
Johnson and Pūrlisse founder Jennifer Yen said there is big potential because of the category’s consumption rate. “This is what I use the most, more than any other product I purchase,” Johnson said. “I don’t always wear makeup, but every day I put a lotion on. I’m so busy that when I take a shower, is the only time of day I relax.”

Johnson and Yen connected over tea and discovered common ground — namely the challenges of single motherhood, entrepreneurship, travel and a love of spas. “But we never have time to go because we are so busy,” said Yen, who is busy tending to fast-growing Pūrlisse brand and a new launch called Yensa.
Busy lifestyles are what prompted the duo to create the bath and body collection to mimic the spa experience they crave but can’t find time to enjoy. The lineup is right-sized for easy travel to use on the go.“I’ve wanted to partner with Kandee Johnson for a long time,” said Yen, adding Pūrlisse was an early adopter of the influencer space. “When I think of Kandee, she just always smells so sweet.”
The Kandee Johnson x The Pūrlisse Kandee-Luscious Body Collection retails for $20 and consists of a 3-Step At-Home and Travel Friendly Spa Ritual including body wash, body scrub and body butter. The Cleanse Me Orange Creamsicle Body Wash was formulated to draw out skin impurities and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Buff Me Orange Creamsicle Body Scrub polishes and exfoliates. The Butter Me Orange Creamsicle Body Butter is an intense hydrating formula. “When I use this I literally feel I’m transported to a spa,” Johnson said. She noted that a body butter was crucial. “In beauty school, we were told to imagine two pieces of bread; one is buttered and one is not. The next day the one with butter is going to be soft — the other a crouton. I don’t want to be a crouton.”
The kit will be sold at Morphe, Ipsy, C.O. Bigelow and purlisse.com starting Nov. 15. “Morphe was such a natural,” Yen said. “They are known for their brushes and relationships with top influencers. It made sense because they understand how to make relationships with influencers work as does Ipsy [online]. And C.O. Bigelow is such an institution and a must visit in the West Village.”
Johnson will actively promote the launch on her social networks following the official launch. “I can’t wait to talk about it,” she added. “It is like finally getting to present your class project.”
