This may be the usual time for hubbub over new fragrances, but some of the world’s top skin care brands have seized the opportunity to unveil breakthroughs in technology — one even going so far as to say the product rivals laser surgery.
Clinique, a division of the Estée Lauder Cos. and one of the biggest prestige beauty brands in the world, is making that claim with Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle and UV Damage Corrector, launching globally in August — and also saying the product used over eight weeks can replicate up to 63 percent of the benefits of a dermatologist laser procedure.
For those who see 50 as the new 30, there’s Clarins’ Vital Light antiage day and night creams, which promise to protect and restore skin vitality for women in their fifth decade and over. Clarins — Europe’s largest skin care brand — is touting the product as a breakthrough in restoring the skin’s deep luminosity. It bows in France in August and in the U.S. at Bloomingdale’s in September.
With its new Eye Ulta Protection Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 15 and its re-formulated eye Advanced Anti-Aging serum, Prevage is focusing on the delicate matter of aging skin around the eyes. Due out in the U.S. in October and globally in the spring, the duo promises to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles and age spots and protect against free-radical damage.
