It has been 17 years since Sisley launched Sisleÿa Global Anti-Age — and the franchise is getting an update in February with Sisleÿa L’Integral Anti-Age.
The new addition has double the strength of the original product and offers the capacity to combat behavioral aging, noted Jim Maki, president of Sisley Cosmetics USA.
Behavioral — epigenic — aging, he explained, comes from life’s stressful situations, unwise choices such as smoking or overexposure to the sun, and environmental factors such as pollution. “All of these factors deregulate the cell’s life cycle by simultaneously affecting cellular rhythm: the cell protects itself during the day, and repairs itself at night time; cellular energy, which enables cells to function and renew correctly, and cellular longevity, which is determined by the length of the telomeres preserving the integrity of the DNA,” said Maki.
In a young person, he said, this life cycle is well organized and functional. “However, in a more mature person or a person who has undergone various behavioral stresses, this cycle becomes ‘jammed,’ and if only one of the three factors is affected, the whole cycle is disturbed,” he explained. “The consequences on the skin are premature visible signs of aging, including wrinkles, loss of radiance and firmness.”

Sisleÿa L’Integral Anti-Age, Maki said “gives the cell an ideal ecosystem” as it is enriched with phytostimulines extracted from apples, rhatany extract and Lady’s Mantle extract to stimulate, and ursolic acid, vitamins and minerals, trace elements and amino acids, soy peptide extract, white willow leaf extract, natural tocopherols and adenosine to regenerate and restructure skin.
Ingredients also are included to optimize the functioning of the skin’s life cycle. Lindera extract is said to help resynchronize the skin’s biorhythms so that the ideal rhythm of activity for younger skin is restored to the cellular metabolism. Persian acacia extract is said to promote optimal energy production at the level of the cells (mitochondria) to protect against and repair skin damage caused by cellular fatigue. A yeast and soya protein complex helps protect telomeres (the protective extremity of each chromosome, the length of which correlates with cellular life expectancy). It also helps to maintain the integrity of cellular DNA against behavioral stresses, for optimized cellular longevity.
The new offering will retail for $525 and will be available in regular and “extra-riche” textures. It will be sold at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, select Bloomingdales and Nordstrom doors, and Sisley-Paris.com.
“When the original Sisleÿa was introduced it was a game-changer for Sisley and the anti-aging market on the whole,” said Maki. “The technology and particularly the research studies behind our new Sisleÿa L’Integral Anti-Age makes us confident that we will again be setting a new precedent for the brand.”
