Archroma released its fall 2019 Color Atlas, which identified color trends for the upcoming season, and the collection is led by desert tones and earthy blues and greens. Collectively, its color schema is perhaps best described as serene delicacy.

Archroma’s Color Atlas offers more than 4,300 colors or custom-developed options for industry members, and takes a deep dive into present cultural and social movements that have wholly impacted color choice. Archroma collaborated with Fashion Snoops on the atlas.

Inspired by the belief that “an unsettled world evokes a necessary need for familiar colors,” new colors such as Oxidize, a subdued green, Poseidon, a soft blue and Ground, a rich brown, incite tranquility by way of muted and subtle hues. Its “acidic” earth tones, such as Grunge and Camel, incorporate golden ochre and tan tinges — alongside its Canyon Coral, the three colors are what one might envision glimmering across a Southwestern desert landscape.

All this is starkly contrasted by colors such as Eruption, a berry red, and Imagine, a purplish fuchsia, which together “speak to the outpouring of emotion and energy in today’s society,” according to the firm. Its Putty color presents a silvery taupe and its Vicuna reveals a cozy, comfortable neutral.
