NEW YORK — In an effort to support the growth of core and emerging brands, The Jones Group has established the Jones Group Fashion Office under the direction of Stefani Greenfield, chief creative officer.

The company has tapped Wendy Hirschberg Clurman as vice president and fashion director of Jones New York; Danielle de Marne as vice president and fashion director of designer and contemporary brands, and Amanda Ross as consulting fashion director of Anne Klein. The executives, all of whom work in the fashion office, report to Greenfield.
“It’s all part of the evolution of the Jones Group and our quest to solidify ourselves as a portfolio of fashion brands,” Richard Dickson, president and chief executive officer of branded businesses at The Jones Group, told WWD. He explained that the company has been divided by category, such as footwear, jewelry and sportswear, and it has lacked a central fashion office to research and define style trends.
According to Dickson, each of the brand’s designers will work hand in hand with a fashion-office member. “Great design has a stylist attached to them. Our fashion office will hand-hold the designers from a style and advertising perspective and make sure it’s on trend. There are many things stylists can do to personify a brand. It speaks to our interest to become a design-led organization,” he said.
Clurman, who spent 10 years at Vogue, rising to fashion market director, has most recently been a consultant to the fashion industry, working with such brands as Theory, Magaschoni and Matthew Williamson in the development, production and styling of collections. De Marne was previously creative director of Full Picture, where she advised on the design and creative direction for the agency’s clients. Earlier, she was head buyer for designer brands at Intermix and fashion director of Scoop NYC. Ross, who will work in a consulting capacity, will continue as an independent fashion stylist, costume designer and consultant for celebrities, films, TV series and design houses. Her clients include Mariska Hargitay and Vera Farmiga. She was previously the market director at Harper’s Bazaar.
In addition to Jones New York and Anne Klein, Jones owns or licenses the labels Rachel Roy, Rachel Rachel Roy, B. Brian Atwood, Robert Rodriguez, C&T Costello Tagliapietra and Rafe. It is these labels that De Marne will focus on.
