MILAN — Manuel Facchini is going solo.
After the exit from his family-owned company, Swinger International, which is helmed by his brother Mathias Facchini and operates the Genny label, Facchini has established Byblos Srl. Swinger bought the Byblos and Genny labels from Prada Group in 2002 and 2011, respectively.
Based in Milan, Byblos Srl controls the eponymous brand, first founded by 1973 by the Girombelli family, and the Manuel Facchini label. Both are designed by Manuel Facchini, who holds the role of sole director of Byblos Srl.
Facchini will be supported by newly appointed general director Enrico Vanzo, who previously worked for prestigious international groups, including Giorgio Armani and Tommy Hilfiger.
Along with boosting the business of the Byblos and Manuel Facchini labels, positioned in the advanced contemporary and luxury segments respectively, Byblos Srl will also debut a new brand with the spring 2019 season.
A graduate of the prestigious London’s Central Saint Martins, Facchini’s signature style includes a mix of gothic and rock ‘n’ roll influences with a creative approach imbued with art and architecture references.
After skipping the catwalk last February, Byblos will make a comeback at Milan Fashion Week in September, where Facchini will continue to present his namesake women’s label.
