Sam Edelman has made the jump to the West Coast.
The New York-based contemporary women’s wear designer has opened a 3,500-square-foot store at 342 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills. It joins the brand’s New York City flagship at 109 Spring Street.
The Los Angeles store was designed by Dagnall Folger of Architecture + Information, and was designed to “capture the essence of the Sam Girl — whimsical, sexy, stylish,” according to the company. It features reclaimed wood and raw concrete with rose-colored brass and black leather. The brand’s signature shade of green provides a pop of color, and vintage furniture, chosen by founder and designer Sam Edelman, is sprinkled throughout the store. A one-of-a-kind shoe chandelier is in the center of the space and is used to display the key footwear trends of the season.
In addition to shoes, the store also carries handbags, jewelry and apparel and there’s also a section dedicated to Circus by Sam Edelman, a more playful extension of the label.
“With the launch of our apparel collection and our L.A. flagship, we can now dress our Sam Girls from toe to head, coast to coast,” Edelman said.
Outside its own stores, the Sam Edelman brand is carried at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Lord & Taylor in the U.S. as well as Lane Crawford in Asia. It’s a division of the Brown Shoe Co.
